Samantha Chinyoka graduates from Cambridge with an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development and joins ScottishPower
Beit Scholar, Samantha Chinyoka, graduated from Leeds University as a Beit-Leeds Scholar in 2020, with an MSc in Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Systems. She then went on to undertake and successfully complete an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development at Cambridge, September 2022 – July 2023, sponsored by ScottishPower.
In October 2023, she moved to Glasgow to take up a position with ScottishPower as a Graduate Electrical Engineer in the Onshore Renewables Department. Samantha told us in a recent email exchange: “I very much enjoy working with ScottishPower. The people are lovely and supportive. I also like how there are many training opportunities for graduates, which is what I needed to kick start my career. The Graduate Programme I am on includes a global placement, so I will be going to Madrid, Spain to work at the Iberdrola (the parent company) headquarters for 5 months. I am looking forward to this as it is a great opportunity to build my network of contacts in other business units.”
