Following her MSc Journalism & Media Studies as a Beit-Rhodes Scholar at Rhodes University (SA), Chishimba pursued a Masters in Information, Communication, and Social Sciences at Oxford University, as a Rhodes Scholar, and graduated successfully in March 2023. She is currently undertaking her DPhil in Human Geography, also at Oxford University, as a Rhodes Scholar.

Whilst in Oxford, she has worked for the Rhodes Trust as their Strategic Projects Associate at Rhodes House (Feb 2023), working with the Legacy Equity and Inclusion advisory groups, specifically the Trust and Africa in the 21 century, followed by a position at Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx) as the Student Engagement Officer from June 2023 until departing for Lusaka, Zambia this month, to conduct her fieldwork over the next year.
