Inutu Katoti join the UNDP African Union Commission African Young Women
Leaders Fellowship Programme, Cohort Three
Fellowship (AfYWL) Programme Leadership Training in Addis Ababa – 4
th September 2024
Inutu Katoti, a recipient of the Beit-Leeds Scholarship, graduated from the University of Leeds in 2021 with a distinction after studying for a MSc (Eng) in Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Systems. After her studies, undertaken under Covid restrictions in the UK, she returned to Zambia where she worked as a lecturer at Copperstone University for a few months before working remotely as an Energy Associate and Administrative Specialist for Open Energy Transition, a German non-profit environmental think-tank and software company dedicated to tackling energy planning challenges.
Currently she is a Fellow under the UNDP African Union Commission African Young Women Leaders Fellowship Programme, Cohort Three, with her duty station as UNDP Angola and her role as Assistant to the Resident Representative for Environment and Energy and Governance.
In her own words, Inutu describes her latest position:
This Fellowship has been a stretching experience so far. I decided to apply for it because I wanted something that would take me out of my comfort zone and build my confidence. I see that slowly coming as I am becoming, learning new ways of doing things and unlearning the old. Being posted to a Lusophone country when I am originally from an Anglophone country is quite a highlight in this journey. It has made me appreciate how different we are as individuals and embrace diversity. Not to mention the skills that I am acquiring as I face the day-to-day tasks of the Country Office and engage in activities such as missions and conferences. I look forward to learning more and representing my country.
We wish Inutu well as her career grows. She continues to contribute positively to the BSA, which the Trust welcomes.
