Activity:
Administration Offices wooden floors

Proposed scope of work:
Wall Anchors
Laminate flooring installation
Base Material
Skirting
Silicone sticks

Progress Done:
Based on the directive from the National Museums and Monuments, who are responsible for the preservation of protected buildings, the original wooden floor tiles of the building were preserved during the renovations. Instead of replacing the entire floor, the focus was on reinforcing the floors from underneath to ensure stability and durability.

In cases where specific wooden strips were damaged or beyond repair, those selected strips were replaced with new ones. This targeted approach allowed for the restoration of the original flooring while addressing any areas of concern.

As part of the renovation process, the floors were sanded to create a smooth surface and then varnished. Sanding helps to remove imperfections and create an even finish, while varnishing provides a protective layer and enhances the appearance of the wood. The picture likely showcases the result of this process, displaying a glossy finish that is intended to last long and maintain the aesthetic appeal of the wooden floors.

Summary:
The rising damp extended to the passage way in the collection area which was repaired under the grant. Overall, the proposed scope of work was done accordingly and the rising damp that has been addressed is a huge relief to the gallery.
