Last week Z-FFW was in Mana, Sapi and Chewore, with a number of camps. Carcasses and illegal mining activities were located and details passed onto ZimParks, who then reacted. A few days before that, she was in Matusadona and Bumi, working in collaboration with Africa Parks and Bumi Hills Antipoaching. Again, fish poaching was identified and acted upon. During the months of May & June, apart from patrols and intelligence gathering, she was used to transport 3 pangolins for release / rescue with the Tiki Hywood Foundation.
We anticipate further flying in Mana, Chewore, Sapi and Matusadona (estimated another 20hrs), and then at the end of July / early August we anticipate clocking up another 40 odd hours flying with the Lowveld Rhino Trust.
All in all, this has been a step change for us with tremendous benefit to conservation.
