Dr. Tarusikirwa Delivers Keynote Lecture at the Veterinary Teaching and Research Work Annual Conference
– September 2025
Beit Scholar Dr. Dey Tarusikirwa was recently invited to deliver a keynote lecture on disease surveillance at the Association for Veterinary Teaching and Research Work (AVTRW) annual conference, held on 4 September 2025 at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston.
At the organisers’ request, Dey highlighted the research he undertook during his MPhil in Veterinary Science, which focused on the reproductive health of farm animals in Zimbabwe and its potential impact on the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. His presentation aligned well with the conference’s “One Health, One Welfare” theme and underscored the critical role of surveillance in animal health.
Dey continues to excel in his field and recently passed the RCVS Statutory Membership Examination – OSCE. He is now eligible for admission to the Register of Members of the Royal College for Veterinary Surgeons.
