Scholarships Frequently Asked Questions

A : All applicants (except medical doctors) must be under 30 years of age on 31 December of the year of application.

A : Doctors must be under 35 years of age on 31 December in the year of application. They should have completed 18 months of internship, and preferably a one-year rural posting in the relevant country.

A : Veterinary Surgeons must be under 35 years of age on 31 December in the year of application, and should have completed 12 months of internship.

A : Scholarship candidates need either a Merit or Distinction to apply.

A : Applicants will be expected to apply to the partner Universities listed on our website. A full list is available here.

A : The Beit Trust is restricted by its Constitution to award scholarships only to nationals and residents of Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. No other countries or nationalities can be considered.

A : Preference will be given to those with at least one year’s relevant work experience in their field.

A : In UK, a 1 year taught MA/MSc. In South Africa, the courses are 2 years.
